Campbell & Woods, Inc. was founded in 1959 by Fred T. Campbell and a partner. The company’s original territory covered Delaware through South Carolina. After several years, the partnership dissolved into two agencies and the newly formed Campbell & Associates, Inc. continued to serve what are still our marketing areas of Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. At one time the company owned and operated its own warehouse which served the electrical utilities and distributors as well as commercial industrial accounts and distributors. The warehouse was sold in 1980 and Campbell & Associates returned to its area of expertise, the electric utility industry. In 1978, Fred’s brother Mac joined Campbell & Associates and set up a subsidiary company in Lynchburg, Virginia. Mac then moved to the main office in Richmond in 1984 and eventually bought the company in 1992 upon Fred’s retirement.

 

Campbell & Associates specializes in the electrical utility markets including investor-owned electrical cooperatives and municipal markets. Our representation of generation, transmission, substation, distribution, metering and specialty products gives us an overview of the utility market not available to those who do not specialize in our field. This product mix makes it necessary for us to maintain an on-going relationship with all facets of our customers’ operations: engineering, operations, purchasing, inventory control, construction, projects, metering and load control, marketing and management.
